November 2024 – April 2027 | Erasmus+ | KA2 | Cooperation Partnership in VET | Project n. 2024-1-DE02-KA220-VET-000250974

AIM

The EC developed and passed the European initiative on AI (2018) pursuing such aims as to “boost the EU’s technological and industrial capacity and AI (Artificial intelligence) uptake across the economy, both by the private and public sectors and to prepare for socio-economic changes brought about by AI by encouraging the modernisation of education and training systems, nurturing talent, anticipating changes in the labour market, supporting labour market transitions and adaptation of social protection systems.

AI is positioned to significantly impact daily lives and work, introducing new requirements and fundamentally reshaping the human-technology relationship. In professional settings, AI offers capabilities such as analysing big datasets and providing cognitive relief through faster, more cost-effective, and reliable task completion. Additionally, AI enhances customer interactions, tailors services, and optimizes business processes by automating routine tasks, decision-making, problem solving, planning, and knowledge processing. This fundamentally is altering the interaction between humans and technology in the workplace.

As a consequence, the integration of AI necessitates specific competencies and new skills, particularly for employees without technical or AI/ICT backgrounds, to effectively utilize AI technologies. Various research studies and reports indicate that associated requirements and necessary skills are evolving due to the introduction of AI.
