GIAFF4ID – 2nd Transnational Project Meeting 13th-14th July, Reus
Second Transnational Meeting, GIAFF4ID 13th – 14th July 2023, Reus
On 13th and 14th of July the 2nd TPM of the EU-funded project “Giaff4ID – Games for Improving Affectivity in Youngsters with Intellectual Disabilities” took place.
GIAff4ID is inspired by the need to shift the discourse around sexual education for YPWID from negative to positive freedom, from protection from harm, to positive actions that allow the enjoyment of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. In fact, persons with disabilities’ sexuality are mostly discussed in terms of protection from abuse and violence, to which they are more vulnerable.
The aim this project is to develop games (based on game-based learning approach) on various themes connected to sexual education like consent, health practices, emotions and affectivity, and physical changes.
The Consortium met together in Reus, Catalogna (ES), hosted by OpenEurope, to have an overview of the project progress and discuss about the available deliverables, the activities in progress and the ones to be fulfilled. More specifically, partners discussed the main activities related to WP2 – “Guidance Toolkit for youth workers and caregivers on teaching Sexual Education to Young Persons with Disabilities“.
Next steps in the implementation of WP3, as well deliverables and timeline, have also been faced!
